Design Development

Here I began with creating stars in the background, and then creating the first and largest planet, and then adding a few glow effects to help give it its shape and begin the lighting effect.
Next I moved onto adding a texture onto the planet, and a small spot of light to again help build the lighting that will finalize the piece.

Now here I start to add the second planet and the appropriate lighting for it, this also has glow effects added to it, but slightly masked towards the back to create the correct lighting effect.

Finally I create a bright spotlight underneath the two planets with a soft brush, this creates a bright light that shows around the edges of the planets to create the source of lighting. To add more fill to the scene, I then added a nebula cloud to the right of the scene with two bright light spots.

Initial Statement

For this task I will be creating a magazine article featuring concept art or gaming or even concept art in the gaming industry. The magazine will feature this with a front cover, back cover and at least 2 double page spreads. I aim to create my own digital drawing for the front page, if I am able to achieve this in time, however I am new to digital art so this unclear how this will go for me.

Presenting Own Design Outcomes

For my portfolio, I wanted to follow a sort of simplistic and modern style, with an appropriate colour palette

Research

I really admire the style and layout of this portfolio, it's very clean, sharp and stylish. It has a nice spacing between everything on the page

VisualBox

I really like the style of this layout, it has a simplistic and modern feel to it. I like the large logo centred on the page, and I like the way the image design has been laid out and designed.

Using Media Safely to Produce Graphic Image Outcomes

Portfolio Prepping
I learnt how to create a presentable setup in InDesign
Using effects to add to things such as text, images and other objects. Creating buttons that will allow you to proceed through several pages, and also a button to skip directly to the first or last page.

Here I learnt how to make a button including roll over features. A button can be applied to any object, text or even images, by selecting the button tab I can add a roll over effect, this is, to put it simply a separate copy of the same selection which can then be edited, for example changing the colour slightly to a lighter or darker down, now when the cursor highlights the button, the object will change to it's roll over edit. Another option can be selected "click" which does the same as roll over but instead only takes effect when the object is clicked.
Here I experimented with adding various different images to different pages along with the button selections, by adding functions to each of the buttons, they can act according to their symbol, for example the right symbol would take you to the next page and the last symbol would go straight to the last page.

Today I learnt how to embed videos onto an InDesign document.
A very simple process of bring a video file on the document and adding buttons with animations that will allow you to add buttons to start the video once the button has been clicked, and the button to fade out.
